Staying power

I was thinking how I yo-yo diet all the time. Something gets us really motivated and we stay on our diet for awhile. Then something happens and we fall off. We see major results when we first start out and then they taper off to a modest level. I understand that. Why can't I stay motivated and finally reach my goal of being healthy. I know there are a lot of distractions out there to derail the hard effort we have put in achieving my goal. What happens to us mentally, to have this not be important anymore, that we start eating ourselves to death again. We went for a 62 mile wheeler ride Sunday. It was very windy and quite cold up on the Skyline, but we both enjoyed our 6 hour ride. We are planning another long wheeler ride for Friday. I will post my new totals on the first of September.
