Swim/Bike/Run
Most of you know me, I workout alone. I have a tendency to go to my special place and hate any intrusions. With my breathing the way it is, I have a had time carrying on a conversation without gasping between words. This is why yesterdays workout was so unique for me. Rowdy wanted the ones that could, to do the Sprint Tri distance. We met at Snow AC and did the swim, 1/2 miles in 47 minutes, stationary bike, 12.5 miles in 52 minutes. They only have 2 treadmill at the AC, Rowdy was on one and a girl on the other. Instead of waiting for them to get done, I decided to come home and get on my treadmill to finish up. By the time I got home I had talked myself out of it with some very good excuses. Honestly they were quite convincing. I mentioned to Carolyn that Rowdy would probably be disappointed if I didn't do the 5k. She just looked at me and said,"Well then". With that I got on the treadmill and finished up the distance, 3.1 miles in 38 minutes. After finishing up I felt better about myself. I burned a total of 1749 calories. I got 9 hours sleep and my resting pulse was still 59. I am not working out today. I still need a 14 mile run for my marathon training to be on schedule. We will see

I'm glad that you didn't let yourself or Rowdy down and knocked out that 5K. I wish I was closer because I think the mini tri would be a lot of fun. Maybe one of these days I will be closer and I will be able to do one with you guys. Good luck with the 14 miler. With how busy you are all the time I wonder how you fit everything in. Keep it up and I am looking forward to a new week. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteGood way to stick to it Dad and great job Mom for encourageing you to do what you need to. I did not do anything today and just spent it with the kids. Sundays suck due to the fact they leave and it is still hard on me to say goodbye. I will hit it early in the morning and and stay positive through out the week. Love ya.
