Holding me back

I got my yearly inservice classroom training out of the way and now back to business. Those two days there was no working out. Today, Saturday, I went for a run down Salina Canyon Frontage road with my friend Dee. It was a terrific run. It accomplished everything that I wanted, plus more. I needed to see my run fitness level. It is below what I expected. I had no speed. I was having pains in the groin area, which is unusual. I have lost the calouses off my feet, so I ended up with some blisters. My feet hurt from the pounding. Hips hurt and the usual between the shoulder tightness was there. When I got home I sat in the bathtub and let the cold water trickle into the tub. It is so cold this time of the year I might have sat in it to long, because now I can't get warm. This is a take-off of the ice bath theory which promotes healing. We ran for 13.25 miles and burned a little more than 2000 calories. With everything it was a great run. Wednesday I lost a tenth of a pound and Thursday I staying the same. Friday I was up nine tenths of a pound for no loss. I should have ran a five miler but with having the Salina Canyon run scheduled for Saturday I needed all the energy I could muster. I need to watch the weight because it is what is holding me back more than anything right now.
