Day 9
Good lord I am sore today. All I did yesterday was my walk at 3.5 mph for 30 plus minutes. I can't believe this is hurting so much. Will try and get through my walk run today. Wish me luck

Day 8
I was so sore from just putting the shell on the truck that I almost stayed home yesterday. I finally drug my lazy butt out of bed and into the shower which gave me enough relief to come to work.. Since I was already here went on down to the aerobic room to try a workout. It about killed me. This week I do a little more with a two minute run then a one minute walk for 30 minutes. I am super sore this morning but made it into work. I sure need this to pay off in the long run

Days 6 and 7
Program calls for one day of rest which I took on Saturday. Finished my sixth workout on sunday with a walk in Manti Cemetery on Sunday. Took Carolyn, Bella and Evie along for the walk. Evie was confused on just what a cemetery was. I tried to explain but she just looked at me funny but did stay off the headstones after that. Put the camper shell on the truck which was about all I got done this weekend

Day 5
Did my run for one minute/walk for two minutes for 30 minites with a 5 minute warm-up/cool-down/stretch. The consistency thing is the hard part. I have felt sorry for myself for so long that I have got out of the workout routine. I think once I get caught up at work that I can set a time to workout and stick to it. That should help. The program has you working out 6 days a week, so I will have to make sure I get Saturday in with not having a treadmill here anymore. I will just keep it up

Day 3
Did the one minute run/two minute walk for 30 minutes again on the treadmill. Most of my workouts will be on the treadmill during the winter. It is easier to get my workouts in while I am here at work, so that means treadmill. Yesterday was a bitch of a day and I really didn't want to workout, but I did, and glad I did. I want the workouts to become such a habit that I don't feel right if I miss one

Day 2
Yesterday did a walk of 3.5 mph for 35 minutes with 5 of it being cooldown and stretches. I am so out of shape even this hurts. At least I am up moving. I have races I want to do. I have bike rides I want to do. I still want to do a Triathalons. How can you give up when you still have all of these "want too's"

10/23/12 Day 1 of 8 week program
The first day was a success with alternating a one minute run with a 2 minute walk, repete 10 times. Did a warm up and cooldown with stretches. Trying to find a good time when no one is in the aerobic room. 9:30 worked yesterday. I need to stay with it until it starts to be a habit again, something I can't live without. Carolyn has one in also. Weather is changing with rain tomorrow and a chance of snow. Bella and Evie with love at first and maybe longer. We'll see

Running: A new beginning!
I believe that the Humira injections are giving me some relief. I know it is to soon to call it a success but I have a good feeling that it will work. Finally over the cold and the flu that I had. I have been thinking for sometime about giving up on the running. But everything I see, I see through runner eyes. So before giving up I decided to start fresh. I am starting an 8 week beginning runner course. I will try the 8 weeks, then evaluate how things are going. Carolyn will do it with me. I have did this before and built myself up to a 60 plus mile run. Everything has a starting point and this is mine. I will stay positive during these 8 weeks and not talk down what I am doing.

New Post 10/09/12
No workouts, but decided to post anyway to let whoever reads this know what is going on. The latest on my medical. Dr. Call wanted an MRI on my lower spine and hips to see what is going on there. Came back the I have narrow spinal nerve canels, which I knew about. Also some pretty good arthritis in my hip joints. He talked a little on having this operated on and I pretty much shut him down on that idea. Maybe as a last resort when I can hardly walk I might consider it, not now. I took my first injection of the Humira last Tuesday so I really can't say much on how it is working. Good thing is I only have to take it every two weeks. Still taking the Methotrexate weekly and IB's as needed. Pain is still there but it has been tolerable. I still have this lingering cold that won't go away. That's the problem with the meds for this diesease, it kill off the white blood cells you need to fight off bad bugs. I decided to stop exercising to see if it would help me get over the cold. Well three weeks later I still have the cold and feel even crapper because I haven't been exercising. Go figure. On the lighter side: The grandkids had a great time over the weekend helping Grammy put up the Halloween decorations (she has a lot). It was a fun time watching them interact with Grammy and seeing the pure joy of children. Good time, good memories
