I got in 3.04 miles yesterday. I tried a little running and it wasn't as bad as Sundays downhill half mile. I am always happy when I get above 3 miles. Canceled my Doctor appt for tomorrow because the weather is supposed to be bad and made it for the following week.

Hit a deer this morning!
This morning at 0630 hrs. on my way to work I hit a deer with Carolyn's car. I got as far as the bottom of Lowry Hill when this large deer ran right out in front of the car. I braked and swerved to the right and still clipped it with the left front fender. It took out the light assembly, bent the hood and damaged the fender. I took the car back home and drove the truck very carefully to work. Now I am waiting for Sevier County to have a trrooper call me. That's crazy because I was in sight of Sanpete County Jail but with the accident happening on hwy 89 a trooper has to take care of it. That is not the way to start out the week, especially on a Monday morning. Now for the good stuff. I did get in a walk/run yesterday for 2.14 miles. I ran down hill for a half mile and man did that tear me up. Nice to be outside though.

Man, where has this month gone. Amazing how fast time flies by. It has been a lazy weekend. Carolyn has been sick all week with a bug. When she gets this stuff she get so sick I can't believe it. She went to the doctor Friday and along with everything else she has Bronchitis. Hope she gets better soon. I have a doctor appt in Provo on Thursday. Will see if he is happy with my results. I expected more but I have never been know for my patience. Especially when it interferes with my workouts. When I get done with a few chores I plan on going for a walk. The weather is pretty nice and the temp is close to 50

Even though I was sore I was able to get in 2.81 miles yesterday. I am way sore. The walk/run aggraviates the arthritis and man does it act up. Not bitching, just letting everyone know what's happening. Different places are hurting like the bones in my feet. Elbows, shoulder and the rest let me know things are not right. I will keep on keeping on and see where all this takes me

Yesterday I wanted to see how my body would handle 3 miles on the treadmill. I did 3.06 miles in 52 minutes. Today I am sore and worn out. I can't believe that little bit of exercise kicked my butt, but it did. At least I felt like I accomplished something. The magic number is 3 miles. Anything less I have a hard time with. Will keep trudging along and try not to bitch

Layed around the house most of the weekend. Was going to try the bicycle on Sunday but it snowed 4 inches. Still waiting for the two meds. to kick in, can't wait. Fifth shot today and down to only taking 2.5 mg. of Prednisone. Want to get off the Prednisone so I can walk on an incline and do more running but Prednisone is the only thing that is giving me any relief from the arthritis. Sucks. I will just keep plugging along and do what I can. Grandma Steadman seems to think it's not going to get much better. That would change everything and I would have to learn to deal with this in a way I really don't want to! I have paid the price of lack of exercise the last six months and I don't like the results at all. I did get in a little exercise though. Friday did 1.86 miles and Saturday did 1.09 miles so every little bit counts

We went to the ballet on Friday and it was great. The ride up then sitting at the ballet for two and a half hours hurt. Nice 3 inches of snow for Sunday morning. Walked Friday for 1.01 miles

Isn't it funny what motivates a person. Yesterday I did my usual glance thru Facebook. Someone had posted a picture of a child of about 7 or 8 years old, laughing while he was running. This might not be that inspiring because kids know how to have fun. What was amazing is below the knee, on both legs he had prosthetics. I can't remember the caption but it was something like, (what are you whinning about). Having been inspired I went down and walked for almost an hour covering 3.33 miles. I wasn't laughing like that little guy but I got it done. The thing is, we are all thrown curve balls throughtout our life and it is up to us on how we handle it. Lets make the best of our situation. Whine when you need to but don't make it a habit. I will be running soon and that is a promise to me

Yesterday was a low pain day, one of the first ones I have had in a long time. I still had low energy but at least the pain wasn't as severe. The day before I fell asleep before 8pm and woke up at 5am, for 9 hours sleep. So I don't know if I felt better because of the extra sleep or the meds. are starting to work. I took my 3rd shot of Enbrel last night. Today I am back feeling sore again. I walked for 1.95 miles yesterday but only got 7 hours sleep, (restless sleep). I need more good days like yesterday to encourage me and let me know there might be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Did a short walk on Friday of 1.14 miles. My week totals are 7.88 miles of walk/running. Things are slowly coming along. Still need to figure out if I hurt from working out or the pain is worse because of working out. Either way I will always workout. It might not be as intense as days gone by but it will get my heart rate up there.

No exercise on the first, which is not getting the month off to the right start. I was really sore so took the day off. Yesterday wasn't much better. I am not doing any running, just walking. Walked for 2.19 miles on the treadmill. Will get this figured out sooner or later

Yesterday was a walk because of pain issues with yesterdays soreness and arthritis issues. Got thru the walk ok but I can't believe how sore I am today. Will have to see if it is workout soreness or the other issues. Trial and error/Trial and error from now on. Enough of that, I got the exercise in and that is what counts.. I walked for 2.39 miles yesterday and ended the month with 20.18 miles. I am still gaining weight so I need to set some goals. So to not set myself up for failure I will lose 5 lbs this month. I think a little over a pound a week is doable. I am going back to posting my weight with every post. I am looking forward to a warm day so I can ride the bike and see how it affects my joints. I hope that the bike will give me the ability to get in my long mileage fix that I so badly need. We will see
