We need to remember September 11, 2001

Seldom do I remember where I was on any given day.  This day is burned into my memory like nothing else.  I was home sick when I got a call from Carolyn.  She said to turn on the TV and that an airplane had just flown into one of the Twin Towers.  A sad day in the history of the United States of America and one no citizen should ever forget.  I see our country being torn apart with this administration and all of the infighting going on in congress.  I see families being torn apart with different views as to what direction we should take.  In my 63 years I don't remember this country being so divided, with no give on either side.  Remembering back to that day on 9/11 I was instantly pissed off, angry beyond believe that someone could do an inhuman act like this.  Then there was sadness with seeing Americans jumping from the tower, people covered in dust running down the street, the terror and confusion on every ones faces from cops, fireman and citizens.  Then the anger again that someone would do such a senseless act to there fellow man.  Then seeing everyone start helping each other.  Putting aside there fears and problems to give a helping hand to whoever needed it.  I started feeling such a sense of pride in what was happening on the streets of New York that day.  That statement of "LETS ROLL" as the passengers took back that plane the only way they could.  Americans pulling together like I have never seen.  Everyone helping everyone.  The news people on the edge of tears doing there jobs  Cops and firemen rushing into where everyone else was trying to get out of.  Rudy and Bush showing there inner strength that Americans needed as we are watch live TV of people jumping out of burning building.  Watching live TV as the tower collapse into a rubble pile killing hundred as we watch.  For a long time after this horrible day American stood as a united American.  I saw this change for a long time after that attack.  What is happening this 9/11/2012, eleven years later, that I fear a revolution is in the making.  We are a country being torn apart by our leadership and that scares me.  Sixty day from now we will know what direction the country will take.  Until then we can pray and hope somehow we can find that pride, love, compassion and respect for this country we found after 9/11/01.   I proudly call the United States of America my home with no excuses, no apologies to anyone
